Rachel Lockhart - Registered Social Worker
Works with youth aged 15 and older, adults & couples

Rachel offers warm, practical, and down-to-earth counselling that goes beyond just talking — her focus is on helping people understand what’s actually happening within them and around them, and then helping them develop real tools and skills that are realistic to implement in everyday life.

She draws from Gottman Method, attachment theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and strength-based approaches. Rachel believes counselling should fit into your life to actually work. That means we don’t just process — we build customized plans, practical strategies, and interim resources you can use between sessions so progress feels tangible and sustainable.

Rachel is Gottman-trained and integrates attachment theory, IFS, and strength-based care into her work with couples. She supports couples at many stages, including premarital counselling, navigating parenthood, general relationship stress, and infidelity recovery. Her approach is collaborative and action-oriented — we focus on patterns, communication, and concrete strategies that help couples move forward, not just revisit the same conversations.

Rachel works with adults who are wondering if they have ADHD, have been newly diagnosed, or are looking for practical ways to manage executive dysfunction and daily overwhelm. She brings both formal ADHD coaching training and lived experience to this work — Rachel was diagnosed later in life, her partner has ADHD, and two of her three children are also diagnosed. Rachel’s approach is compassionate, realistic, and skill-focused, helping clients reduce shame and build systems that actually fit their lives.

Rachel also has a special passion for supporting new and expectant parents and couples as they navigate identity shifts, mental load, and relationship changes during the perinatal and early parenting seasons.
